4 Common Emergencies That Bring People to Our St. Paul Dental Office
Dental emergencies are scary and inconvenient! It is especially stressful when you don't know what to do. You can relax because Dr. Fischbach and your team at RJF Advanced Dentistry are here to help! If you are experiencing a dental emergency in Saint Paul, we will make every effort to see you the same day so we can get you feeling comfortable again as soon as possible. Here are some common emergencies and what you can do to handle them.
An Old Restoration that Breaks or Falls Out
Unfortunately, most dental restorations don't last forever. If you find yourself with an old crown or filling that has come out or needs repair, it may cause sensitivity in your tooth. You will want to have it evaluated and treated as soon as possible to avoid further damage to your tooth or nerve.
A Tooth that Has Been Knocked Out
In this situation, it's important to act quickly and be careful how you handle your lost tooth. Try to touch it as little as possible and place it back in its socket if you can. If not, use milk to transport it and keep the cells moist and alive. Dr. Fischbach has the best chance of saving your tooth the quicker you can get to our office.
Dental Sensitivity or Pain
If you are experiencing constant pain or a toothache, it could be the sign of an infection in your nerve or pulp. This will not go away without treatment, so please call our office right away. Dental infections that aren't treated run the risk of spreading to other critical areas of your body and causing damage to other healthy teeth. Root canal therapy may be able to eliminate your infection and restore your tooth to good health again.
Broken or Chipped Teeth
If your tooth breaks, you will need immediate attention to avoid additional damage or sensitivity. Gather the pieces of your tooth and bring them to our office right away.
If your teeth are chipped, they may not require immediate attention, but contact our office anyway for further instruction.
We look forward to restoring your smile and your oral health as soon as possible. Don't hesitate to call RJF Advanced Dentistry in an emergency situation.
